‘Clueless, got to be kidding me’: Some Arsenal fans are fuming with Arteta’s comments

It’s fair to say that Arsenal’s display against Leicester City could hardly have come at a worse time for Mikel Arteta.

Much of the build up around the game focused around Arteta’s decision to omit Mesut Ozil from his Arsenal squad, so the last thing Arteta needed was for his Gunners side to show a real lack of creative flair.

But Arsenal just couldn’t break down Leicester’s resilient backline, as they ultimately fell to a 1-0 defeat.

After the game Arteta bemoaned Arsenal’s lack of creativity, telling the Sky Sports, during their live coverage: “[Despite] how dominant we were, we lacked creativity in the final third and use a little bit, the spaces better to be little bit more dangerous towards the goal.”

And many Arsenal fans feel that the quotes are further evidence that Arteta has made a major error by leaving Ozil out of his squad.

Regardless of the strong feelings from some Arsenal fans towards Arteta’s decision, Ozil seems to have no way of forcing his place back in the Gunners’ side.

Even if Arsenal continue to struggle creativity it seems far more likely that they will buy a new playmaker than reconsider Ozil again.

The German appears to have burned his bridges at the club now, and his exit is beginning to look more and more inevitable.
