HITC Sport understands a number of clubs are tracking former Tottenham and Swansea midfielder Giancarlo Gallifuoco.
A host of clubs are set to watch free agent Giancarlo Gallifuoco on international duty this week as they weigh up a move for the former Tottenham and Swansea man, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Gallifuoco is looking for a new club following his release by Swansea after just one year at the Liberty Stadium.
The 21-year-old never made a first-team appearance for Swansea, but was a regular for the club’s Under-21s helping them win Development League title.
Gallifuoco, who can play in central midfield or in central defence, arrived in England in 2012 when Tottenham snapped him up from Australian side Sutherland Sharks.
Gallifuoco spent two-and-a-half years at Tottenham, but failed to break through into the club’s star-studded first-team during his time at White Hart Lane.
The Sydney-born star then moved to Swansea last summer and despite impressing in the club’s Under-21s side he finds himself without a club.
Gallifuoco, who has represented Australia from Under-17 to Under-22 level, is currently away on international duty and he is hoping to catch the eye of interested clubs in his two Under-23 games for Australia in the next seven days as he aims to secure his long-term future.
