Liverpool, Newcastle United and Arsenal want Victor Osimhen but Napoli will struggle to replace the striker even if they receive 150 million euros from a Premier League club, Serie A legend Alessandro Altobelli tells Canale 8.

It won’t take quite that much to lure the Nigeria international away from the Stadio San Paulo.

But that is not to say Napoli will let one of Europe’s most coveted centre-forwards leave on the cheap.

According to Calciomercato, Newcastle are ready to make Osimhen their first truly marquee signing of the Saudi Arabian era at St James’ Park. The former Lille talisman, who is valued at around £80 million, will be offered a contract worth £150,000-a-week.

A pay-packet that will secure his status as Newcastle’s best-paid player of all time.

Money can’t buy you everything, however, and Gazzetta dello Sport believe that Osimhen would rather play European football at Arsenal.

The Mirror (1st May, page 75), claim that Champions League finalists Liverpool are another potential destination. Osimhen, a towering number nine with a leap that would give Cristiano Ronaldo a run for his money, will certainly offer a different dimention to Jurgen Klopp’s already formidable frontline.

“The nice thing is that there are so many English teams ready to make moves for him,” says Altobelli, a member of Italy’s 1982 World Cup-winning squad and a man who recently labelled Osimhen ‘better’ than Juventus superstar Dusan Vlahovic.

“But I don’t think the club (Napoli) want to sell him  Even with a cash windfall of 150 million euros (£125 million) it would not be easy to replace him. Napoli don’t need money but strong players.”

Is Victor Osimhen worth over £100m?

After struggling for fitness and form throughout his debut season in Italy, Osimhen is certainly living up to expectations this term.

The 23-year-old, who came close to joining Arsenal before swapping Lille for Napoli in the summer of 2020, has scored 17 goals in all competitions.
