West Ham United and Southampton have reportedly received a boost in their quest to sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
The Daily Mail reported on October 2 that West Ham are keen on signing the 24-year-old, with Chelsea manager Frank Lampard willing to let the midfielder leave on loan.
The Sun has now reported that Chelsea are prepared to pay £100,000-a-week of his £173,000-a-week salary for this season as part of any loan deal.
The report in the British tabloid has claimed that Southampton are also interested in securing the services of the England international.
Good signing for West Ham United or Southampton?
With Chelsea having a very strong midfield department, Loftus-Cheek will struggle for regular playing time at the Blues this season.
Both West Ham and Southampton are big clubs, and the London outfit and the Saints could do with a dynamic box-to-box midfielder such as the England international.
If Chelsea are willing to pay part of his salary during his loan spell, then the Hammers and the Saints should really look into it.
