Lazio have rejected the chance to sign Lucas Torreira from Arsenal in the summer transfer window, according to The Times.

However, according to the report, the Uruguay international midfielder still has an offer from Fiorentina.

It now remains to be seen if the midfielder decides to move to Fiorentina.

Arsenal spell

Torreira joined Arsenal from Sampdoria in the summer of 2018 for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £26 million.

Unai Emery was the head coach of the Gunners at the time, and the Spaniard described the Uruguayan as “a midfielder with great quality” on the club’s official website in July 2018.

Torreira made 24 starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League for the North London outfit in 2018-19, scoring two goals and providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
