Club reportedly in talks over ‘very bright’ Arsenal player

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fiorentina have been in talks over the signing of Lucas Torreira from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported by the Italian publication that securing the services of Torreira is Fiorentina’s priority this summer.

However, the report does not clarify if the talks are between Fiorentina and the 24-year-old midfielder or between the Italian club and Arsenal.

What is clear from the report is that the Serie A outfit want to sign the Uruguay international midfielder this summer.

Should Arsenal sell Lucas Torreira?

Torreira has been on the books of Arsenal since 2018 and has done relatively well.

The Uruguayan was not at his best in the opening months of last season, as he was not always played in his best position by then Arsenal head coach Unai Emery.

However, there is no doubt that the former Sampdoria star is a very good player, who, at the age of 24, will get better.

Described as “a very bright talent in the game” by then Arsenal manager Emery on the club’s official website in July 2018, Torreira has a lot to offer to the Gunners, and perhaps the North London outfit should keep him at the club for one more season at least.
