Tottenham Hotspur face a battle to sign Barcelona winger Ansu Fati as he is reluctant to leave the club this week.
Ansu Fati is being urged to join Tottenham Hotspur but he would prefer to join Liverpool if he is to leave Barcelona.
That is according to a report from Catalan newspaper SPORT, who claim that Fati is being pressured to accept Tottenham’s approach.
Spurs are in talks over a loan deal for Fati and both Barcelona and agent Jorge Mendes are telling him to make the move.
However, Fati isn’t convinced and wants to join a ‘top-level’ team like Atletico Madrid or Liverpool.
It’s hard to see Liverpool pushing to sign another winger before the transfer deadline though, unless Mohamed Salah does move to Saudi Arabia.
The London Evening Standard add that Fati is ‘reluctant’ to leave Barcelona and wants to stay at the Camp Nou.
The report notes that Fati earns around £200,000-a-week at Barcelona and his wages are as much of a problem as his desire to stay at Barcelona.
Tottenham will still have hope of a deal and hope that Fati can eventually come around to the idea of moving to North London.

Brennan Johnson still feels a more likely signing than Ansu Fati for Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham fans are probably a little surprised by the mounting Fati rumours.
Nottingham Forest ace Brennan Johnson had been the top target in recent weeks as Spurs eye up a new attacker.
Tottenham certainly seem to want a versatile forward who can operate across the front line rather than a number nine like Harry Kane.
Fati fits that bill just like Johnson but we think the Welshman is still the most likely Spurs signing this week.

Tottenham have been putting in plenty of work to get that deal done and, crucially, Johnson wants to join Spurs.
Fati isn’t anywhere near as interested and the timing of these rumours seems interesting.
Spurs seemed to be moving towards a deal for Johnson with even Forest expecting a deal to be done.
This Fati interest may just be a negotiating tactic to try and push Forest into a deal before a big-money move disappears.
If we had to guess, we would still back Johnson for the move – and can’t really see Fati getting that move to Liverpool before the deadline.
