Inter Milan will now indulge transfer offers from Premier League teams courting Stefan De Vrij, according to TuttoMercatoWEB, with Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United keen.
De Vrij faces an increasingly uncertain future at the San Siro as he is still yet to agree a new contract with the Nerazzurri. His current terms will expire in 2023, but he was due to agree an extension before the coronavirus pandemic left the Serie A giants with financial issues.
Now, a deal that appeared one step away is further and further from the table and an exit seems likely. De Vrij and Inter have failed to settle on renegotiated terms and further talks are not scheduled. The San Siro hierarchy are also now leaning more towards an exit, too.

Inter Milan, therefore, plan on indulging approaches for De Vrij’s transfer at the end of the season. The Nerazzurri additionally believe the Premier League will return the best bids for the 30-year-old. Even if they have to lower their asking price from €25m (£21m) to sell.
The San Siro hierarchy will, however, seek to start any negotiations at their full asking price before entertaining potential discounts. And Inter Milan may not need to offer a bargain if Newcastle chase De Vrij’s transfer with the Magpies reportedly ready to spend big on him.
Inter Milan now set to indulge Prem bids for Tottenham, Newcastle target De Vrij
Recent reports by FC Inter News claim Newcastle are prepared to pay Inter Milan €25m (£21m) for De Vrij’s transfer. Eddie Howe’s side are also ready to offer the centre-back a €7m-a-year (£112k-a/w) net salary to move to St James’ Park. Yet he is not interested.

Instead, Tottenham or Barcelona would be a more likely landing spot for De Vrij in the next transfer window. Inter Live also cited Spurs as leading the race for a deal for the Dutchman in February due to Antonio Conte’s presence at the helm after their time together in Italy.
Inter Milan now also warming to lesser offers could prove key to Tottenham agreeing De Vrij’s transfer. Especially as Daniel Levy’s desired profile usually opposes lucrative moves for stars of his age. Which could count against Conte come the end of his first campaign.
