Bayern Munich are in constant communication with Serge Gnabry and his agent over a new contract, but are failing to satisfy the reported Liverpool transfer target to extend his deal.
That’s according to Kicker, who report the Bundesliga giants and Gnabry are nowhere near finding an agreement right now. Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic is leading Der FCB’s negotiations, as he looks to avoid allowing the German to enter the final year of his terms.
Gnabry last penned a new deal in 2019 as a reward for his early efforts at the Allianz Arena. Having spent the first season after his €8m (£6.5m) move from Werder Bremen on loan at Hoffenheim, the winger flourished in Bavaria with 13 goals and nine assists during 2018/19.

Gnabry is now on course to produce his best Bundesliga haul with Bayern Munich this term after an impressive season. The 26-year-old has 10 goals and four assists after 22 outings – just two goals shy of his personal-best haul set in 2019/20, along with a high of 11 assists.
Bayern Munich are loath to leave themselves at risk of losing Gnabry in the summer or for free next year. But Salihamidzic is yet to present an offer that satisfies the 31-cap forward, either with the salary or length suggested. He currently earns £115k-a-week with Der FCB.
Bayern opening Gnabry door for Liverpool transfer swoop
Bayern Munich’s difficulties convincing Gnabry to sign a new contract could swing the door open for Liverpool to launch a transfer swoop. Sky Germany have reported Jurgen Klopp’s side plus Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona are all monitoring his situation.

The four big-hitters could move for the former Arsenal prospect this summer if he does not sign a new contract. Bayern will undoubtedly demand more than they paid Werder Bremer to sell Gnabry – who Rio Ferdinand called ‘world-class’ – even without new terms, though.
