ACF Fiorentina have reportedly eyed a move for West Ham target Arthur Cabral as a replacement for Dusan Vlahovic, who is close to joining Juventus.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Serie A side have submitted a €16m (£13m) bid to sign the Brazilian striker as a replacement for Vlahovic. Fiorentina’s sporting director Daniele Prade recently told Sport Italia that the Serbian will only be sold for an offer of £70m.
With Vlahovic breaking the record for most goals scored in a calendar year in Serie A, it is no wonder that Juventus have opted to go big for the 21-year-old striker. And now, Fiorentina are eyeing a move for Cabral, who has been linked with West Ham this window.
According to Goal, the Irons were preparing to make a bid for the FC Basel star, with Newcastle United also said to be interested in the 23-year-old attacker. However, Fiorentina now look set to win the race for the South American striker.
The forward has been in blistering form this season for Basel. Cabral has hit an astonishing 27 goals in all competitions, with the forward also registering eight assists for the Swiss giants.
Indeed, with such an impressive goalscoring record, it makes sense why West Ham and Fiorentina are keen on Cabral. However, the Serie A side now look like the favourites to sign the former Palmeiras star.
West Ham will be kicking themselves if Fiorentina sign Cabral

Strong, clinical in the box and a presence in the air, Cabral could have been a perfect signing for West Ham this January to compete with Michail Antonio for the striker position, yet with Fiorentina making a bid for the forward, the ship seems to have sailed.
Whilst La Viola will be losing their star man in Vlahovic, Cabral is a smart replacement for Fiorentina. And for West Ham, they could regret allowing the Brazilian to slip through their fingers this January.
