RB Leipzig are reportedly lining up a move to sign Feyenoord midfielder and rumoured Arsenal target Orkun Kokcu, with the Bundesliga side set to lose Tyler Adams to Leeds United.
According to Bild, the east German giants have identified the Turkish international as an option to replace Adams this summer, with the American international, as per the report, likely to reunite with Jesse Marsch this window ahead of a transfer to Elland Road.
With Leipzig set to earn a decent fee from Adams, a replacement is needed at the club, and reported Arsenal target Kokcu is seemingly on the agenda, with the £23m-rated Feyenoord star one of Holland’s leading talents and a player who has been due a big move for some time.
Likened to Luka Modric, the 21-year-old midfielder has been a key member for Feyenoord ever since breaking into the first team in 2018, yet this summer looks to be the one where Kokcu finally makes his move from Rotterdam, with Leipzig now the favourites to sign the silky talisman.
Indeed, Arsenal have been linked with Kokcu for what feels like forever, yet with Leeds now reportedly close to signing Adams, who he himself has been labelled as a ‘special player’ by Marsch, the Turkish international makes plenty of sense as a replacement for the versatile American midfielder.
With Mikel Arteta’s side signing Fabio Vieira earlier this summer, it is likely that the Gunners will now not make a move for Kokcu despite strong links to the Feyenoord star over the years, meaning Leipzig will seemingly have a free shot at landing the midfielder once Adams has joined Leeds.
Replacing Adams with Kokcu is a smart signing from Leipzig

Adams will be a big miss for Leipzig, but given the project Marsch is likely to head at Leeds and the link the midfielder has to his former New York Red Bulls boss, the German club are right to allow the American to leave, yet Kokcu could be a smart replacement for the Bundesliga side.
Technically brilliant and with a keen eye for a pass, Kokcu could explode in the German top-flight should Leipzig sign him to replace Adams, with the Feyenoord star ready for the next step in his career, with the Saxony-based side the perfect platform for the 21-year-old.
