AS Roma will reportedly scout Bodo/Glimt star Ola Solbakken this week when the two sides meet in the UEFA Europa Conference League quarter-finals, with the Norwegian also on Celtic’s radar.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Jose Mourinho’s side have been keeping tabs on the 23-year-old ever since Bodo/Glimt’s 6-1 thrashing against Roma earlier in the season, a result that the Portuguese manager noted was one of the worst of his coaching career.
It’s not just Roma who are interested in Solbakken, though, with the Scottish Daily Express previously reporting that Celtic were offered the chance to sign the right-sided attacker in January, but Ange Postecoglou’s side rejected the opportunity.
With Bodo/Glimt open to selling their star attacker this year for €2m (£1.6m), a bargain could be made this summer if Roma make a move for Solbakken or if Celtic are tempted to make a legit move for the winger.
Solbakken was on the scoresheet against the Hoops in Celtic’s Europa Conference League knockout match against Bodo/Glimt, with the Norwegian side winning 5-1 on aggregate against the Scottish giants.
Indeed, the winger has been in fine form over the past 12 months, and if Solbakken once again impresses against Mourinho’s side this week, Roma could well make a move for the talented forward, much to Celtic’s dismay.
Celtic could launch Solbakken offer amid interest from Roma

Postecoglou’s eye for a bargain has been key to Celtic’s incredible form in the Scottish Premiership this season, and with Solbakken available this year for just £1.6m, the Australian coach should be considering making an offer to beat Roma to the winger.
Indeed, Solbakken has flourished in Norway and in Europe in recent months, and with Roma now in the chase to sign the 23-year-old, Celtic should really consider making a move for the Bodo/Glimt star given the bargain that’s on offer this summer.
