Borussia Dortmund are reportedly eager to keep hold of rumoured Liverpool target Youssoufa Moukoko amid links that Chelsea are interested in signing the teenage attacker.
According to Bild journalist Christian Falk, the Bundesliga side ‘don’t want to sell’ the Germany international in the January transfer window with Chelsea now keen on signing Moukoko. However, there is every chance that the youngster could leave Dortmund in the summer.
Moukoko’s current contract is due to expire at the end of this season, and whilst Dortmund are working on securing the attacker’s future, there has still been little concrete movement in the German side keeping hold of their wonderkid talent.
As a result, interest is building in Moukoko, with the Athletic reporting that Chelsea are exploring the possibility of signing the teenager in January, whilst according to Sport Bild, Liverpool are leading the race to land the £26m-rated attacker.
Indeed, Moukoko would be quite the signing for any top club given how many records the 18-year-old has broken already in his career, Yet Dortmund’s latest stance on the teenage attacker could hint at the youngster signing a new contract despite interest from Graham Potter’s side and Liverpool.
Moukoko more likely to renew with Dortmund than sign for Chelsea or Liverpool
Moukoko has the potential to become one of the best attackers in world football. And whilst a move to the Premier League might be tempting for the teenager, the odds are that remaining at Dortmund for the next few years could be the perfect developmental state for the striker.
After all, Moukoko is already at the best club in Europe when it comes to developing younger players into superstars, and given how young the forward already is, the attacker could be ready to take on the Premier League come 2024, even though Chelsea and Liverpool are interested in a move next year.
