West Bromwich Albion have added Kamil Grosicki to their Premier League squad after the winger’s move to Nottingham Forest was blocked.
Grosicki’s West Brom future was on hold while an independent appeal panel dealt with Forest’s decision to challenge the English Football League, which had rejected the Championship side’s application to sign the Poland international on loan.
The EFL said in a statement earlier that Nottingham Forest had ‘not submitted the relevant documents in relation to Grosicki’s on-loan transfer prior to the transfer window closing at 5pm on Friday 16 October 2020’.
And it confirmed that the initial verdict has been upheld.
But the 32-year-old will not be sat twiddling his thumbs until the window reopens in January, with West Brom announcing soon after that he will be eligible for their 10 league games between now and then.
It remains to be seen whether or not Nottingham Forest make a fresh attempt to sign Grosicki in the new year.
Grosicki only moved to West Brom in January of this year from Hull City, but is on course to become a free agent next summer.
