A player in whom Leeds United were reportedly interested has joined CSKA Moscow.
Passione Inter listed Leeds among the clubs rivalling Inter Milan to sign the Argentine striker Adolfo Gaich.
But after around a month of speculation as to whether or not Gaich was in fact Moscow-bound, CSKA have finally confirmed his arrival in a statement on the club’s official website.
The 21-year-old scored seven goals in 27 games for San Lorenzo and was capped by his country at senior level last September.
And according to Transfermarkt, CSKA have paid £7.65 million for his signature.
Leeds could be in the market for a new centre forward this summer, with Patrick Bamford and Tyler Robers their only senior options at present.
It remains to be seen if the pair will be rejoined at Elland Road by Jean-Kevin Augustin, the striker Leeds loaned from RB Leipzig in January.
The Whites are said to have had an obligation to buy Augustin outright upon their promotion to the Premier League, although it is claimed this is now under dispute.
