The Anderlecht ace is a reported transfer target for West Ham United.
Hammers boss David Moyes will be desperate to bolster his ranks at the London Stadium this month, but he might just be out of luck with one of his key targets, after Anderlecht general manager Herman Van Holsbeeck insisted that Leander Dendoncker will only be sold if a ‘huge offer’ is made for his services, during an exclusive interview with Belgian media outlet L’Avenir.
The 22-year-old is one of Moyes’ key transfer targets this month, according to Sky Sports, as the Scot looks to address the imbalanced squad that he has at his disposal.
The classy performer is a holding midfielder by trade, but can operate in a variety of different positions, including centre-back and a more advanced role in midfield.
He would be an outstanding signing for the Hammers, but it looks like they will have to offer a substantial amount of money for his services, after Van Holsbeeck insisted that £20 million will not be enough to get the job done, during an interview with L’Avenir:
“Unless there is a huge amount of money, they won’t leave. We are not going to sell our best players [he was also talking about Adrien Trebel] when we still have a small chance to win the league.”
There is still a week or so left before the transfer window slams shut, and despite Van Holsbeeck’s comments, this will still be one for West Ham fans to keep a close eye on.
