Victor Wanyama has reportedly agreed a £9m million move to Belgium after falling out of favour at Premier League challengers Spurs.

Club Brugge coach Philippe Clement has admitted to Het Nieuwsblad that he is interested in signing out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama – but insists that the Kenyan powerhouse isn’t his only target.
Perhaps Mauricio Pochettino said it best this week. Asked by The Mirror why Wanyama had been transformed from key player to forgotten man in the blinking of an eye in North London, the Spurs boss said, quite simply, that he had ‘gone backwards’.
It’s hard to disagree with that assessment. The former Southampton and Celtic midfielder finds himself behind Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks, Eric Dier and maybe even Oliver Skipp in the pecking order and, according to Het Nieuwsblad, he has agreed a move to Belgium worth an initial £9 million.
Talks are ongoing though it remains to be seen whether Wanyama is willing to swap the world’s most high-profile division for a, with all due respect, second-rate league.
So this is perhaps why Clement was keen to stop Brugge supporters getting carried away about what would be one of the biggest transfer coups made by any Belgian club during the last decade.

“He is not the only option either. It would be stupid to put all our eggs in one basket,” said Clement.
“But it is clear that Wanyama remains a priority. We know his quality and mentality. But whether he comes is not only in his hands, it’s also in Tottenham’s.”
Brugge finished second behind Genk in the Jupiler League table last season but they’re just 90 minutes away from securing a place in the Champions League after sealing a 1-0 away win at LASK Linz in the first leg of the final qualifying round last week.
The chance to play at Europe’s top table will surely make Wanyama’s decision an easier one.
