A striker linked to Liverpool, Manchester City and Crystal Palace has signed for Porto, his club have announced.

It was earlier reported that Crystal Palace had failed to reach an agreement for the Fluminense striker, Evanilson (Gazeta Esportivo), who had also been watched by Liverpool and Manchester City (Daily Mail).

But Record claimed on Monday evening that the agent Jorge Mendes had since brokered a deal to take Evanilson to Porto, and that a consensus had been reached by all parties.

Fluminense later confirmed the 20-year-old’s exit, stating that the Portuguese champions ‘did not relax and demanded the athlete’s immediate departure’ despite their desire for him to see out the season with them.

Evanilson had scored eight goals in 22 games for Fluminense this season, and becomes the latest Brazilian on Porto’s books after Alex Telles, Otavio, Soares, Fernando Andrade and Vana.

Porto are, however, prolific sellers, and the prospect of Liverpool, Manchester City or Crystal Palace signing Evanilson in future should not be ruled out.
