Tottenham fans will be interested to know that Eintracht Frankfurt have announced Oliver Glasner is now leaving.

It was BILD in Germany who claimed that Spurs held talks with the Austrian in March after deciding to hand Antonio Conte his P45.

Now, Glasner could be heading to north London.

What’s the story?

Well, there were a number of intriguing developments following Glasner’s talks with Tottenham, including one from Sky Germany which stated that the 48-year-old was “supposed” to extend his contract, but suddenly opted to hesitate over a renewal.

That would suggest his head was turned by interest from Spurs.

Glasner has become an admired figure amongst those in N17 after guiding Eintracht Frankfurt to UEFA Europa League glory last season, while he has also manoeuvred the Bundesliga outfit into the DFB-Pokal final this term.

The Salzburg-born tactician has created an exciting, attacking unit consisting of talents such as Randal Kolo Muani, Daichi Kamada and Djibril Sow, with his preferred 3-4-2-1 formation catching the eyes of many across Europe.

Glasner would be a positive appointment by Tottenham

Spurs fans have been crying out for an attack-minded manager for years now, having watched the likes of José Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Conte attempt to defend their way to success.

That is not who Tottenham are.

In Glasner, Spurs would be getting a coach who seemingly has no intention of parking the bus, but instead taking the game to the opposition with a direct approach.

Now, one major hurdle has been cleared as negotiations with Eintracht Frankfurt are no longer necessary, so it is up to Levy to get in contact with Glasner and convince him to join – if he hasn’t already done so, that is.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as a manager of this talent surely won’t be unemployed for long.
