Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club announced the departure of Liam Miller, who has joined FC Basel.
What’s the story?
Well, the 21-year-old leaves Anfield after many years on Merseyside.
Miller joined from Fulham’s academy in 2016, and went on to enjoy loan spells at Kilmarnock and Charlton.
He also made his senior debut in 2020, albeit in that strange 1-0 FA Cup win over Shrewsbury in which Jürgen Klopp wasn’t even present.
The Canada international captained Liverpool’s Under-23 side, and was one of the standout players in the youth ranks.
Miller’s exit has earned Liverpool £1.3m, which isn’t much, but could be put towards a new signing while also freeing up space on the wage bill.
Good move for all parties

In truth, as impressive as Miller has been at youth level, he was never going to make it at Liverpool under Klopp.
The Reds boast a number of world-class attackers, so much so that even Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri struggle for game time.
In that respect, Miller was unlikely to see any action anytime soon.

£1.3m is a good fee for Liverpool, while Miller joins one of the biggest teams in Switzerland who can also offer him European football.
Mohamed Salah’s former side will partake in the Europa Conference League next season.
For now, let’s see how the Liverpool fans on Twitter reacted to Miller’s departure…
