Mikel Arteta has excitingly hinted to Football London that Arsenal may not be done in the transfer window yet.

Arsenal have recently snapped up Martin Odegaard and Matty Ryan, as Arteta’s side have looked to strengthen their squad this month.

But Arteta says that Arsenal are still monitoring other potential additions they could make, with an eye to doing some late business before the window closes.

“When there are still days left in the market there is still the possibility for things to happen,” he said.

“We are in close contact with all the things that can happen and we will see.”

Arteta has already gone on record to suggest that Arsenal would like to bring in a new left-back to add competition for places in their squad.

The Gunners currently only have Kieran Tierney as a natural senior option on the left side of their defence, following the departure of Sead Kolasinac earlier this month.

Arsenal have been linked with both Ryan Bertrand and Tyrick Mitchell in the London Evening Standard, although no deal is thought to be particularly advanced at this stage.

If Arsenal do bring in a new left-back it will have to be seen as a positive window for Arteta’s side, as they seem to have added to the quality of their squad, while shifting out some of their higher earners, who were deemed to be surplus to requirements.
