FC Honka striker Juan Alegria is ’90 per cent’ certain to be on his way to Rangers during the January transfer window, the player’s father and agent Alonso told EL Diario de Todos Extra.
While it may be a little unfair to compare a little-known 18-year-old to Alfredo Morelos, the similarities between Alegria and the Ibrox goal-machine are impossible to ignore.
For one, both hail from Colombia and have honed their talents in Finland.
Rangers paid £1 million to sign Morelos from HJK Helsinki three years ago and, according to the Scottish Sun, the Glasgow giants have been watching Alegria very closely ever since he moved to Scandinavia at the start of 2020.
But that is not all Alegria and Morelos have in common. Like Rangers’ number 20, the youngster is a powerful centre-forward; one who has four goals in ten appearances for FC Honka this season.
“At this moment, we would be 90 per cent certain that Rangers is Juan’s next team,” his father and agent explained, while adding that a move to the Scottish Premiership leaders is ‘close’.

Interestingly, Alegria and Morelos are understood to share the same agent too.
Yet only time will tell if the former can replicate the latter’s impact in the iconic blue shirt of Rangers.
Morelos has scored 84 goals in 158 games for Steven Gerrard’s side, including 29 last season and 30 the year before.
