Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is being dubbed the best number nine in world football right now.
Tottenham legend and TalkSport pundit Clive Allen has suggested that striker Harry Kane is worth a ‘minimum’ of £200 million, which would be the same transfer fee PSG paid for Neymar.
At this moment in time, Neymar is the world’s most expensive footballer having made a £200 million switch from Barcelona to PSG in 2017 [BBC Sport] – And Allen thinks Kane, who he believes is the best striker in the world, is worth as much as that.
There’s no doubt that Kane is one of the top number nine’s in the world, but who is the best is up for debate. From Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero to Bayern Munich hitman Roberto Lewandowski.
Nonetheless, Allen was full of praise for Kane, as former Arsenal man Parlour reacted to his comments and agreed that the Spurs man is improving, as they spoke about his future at the club.
“For me, he is the best number nine in the world at the moment,” Allen told TalkSport. “What you see in Harry Kane, and it was certainly evident last night, is that he’s an incredible goalscorer. But his game now, his vision, his execution of pass, the way he links up play – What’s he worth? £200million? He’s got to be, minimum
“Harry’s all-round game is improving all the time,” Parlour responded. “We know he’s a goalscorer but his link-up play and awareness – I watched that the other night for England, he was their best player
“Tottenham won’t be letting Harry Kane go [in regards to Keane’s comments]. They’ve just signed him on a massive contract, and a long one too. He is Tottenham Hotspur. If they let him go there are real problems at the club. I’m sure he’ll be a Tottenham for many years to come.”
Kane netted a brace for Spurs in the Champions League on Tuesday night when Mauricio Pochettino’s side put five past Red Star Belgrade.
Spurs have been in a bit of a rut recently and they will be hoping someone like Kane can get them out of their recent troubles, but they face their biggest test of the season at the weekend.
Pochettino’s side will take on Premier League leaders Liverpool at Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp’s side yet to be beaten in the league this term.
