Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 1-0 by Manchester United yesterday.

Clive Allen has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 12th December, that he thought Harry Kane was poor for Tottenham Hotspur against Manchester United.

Tottenham lost 1-0 against United yesterday, and Kane was partly at fault for the goal which Spurs conceded.

The England international striker was robbed of possession on half way, and United made him pay.

After robbing the ball off Kane, the Red Devils quickly worked it into Henrikh Mkhitaryan and the former Borussia Dortmund man slammed home the winner.

And Allen said: “I didn’t think Spurs had the cutting edge that they had against Swansea. The passing was too slow and Harry Kane didn’t have any service. I thought it was one of his poorest games for a while.”

Spurs would have moved into the top four if they were able to beat United, but they now remain in fifth place.

The Lilywhites are currently three points behind Manchester City, who occupy the final spot in the Champions League qualification places.

Tottenham do have a chance to get six points on the board in their next two matches, which come against Hull City and Burnley though.

“It’s vitally important for Spurs with two winnable home games. It’s hopefully going to close it all up again. City and Spurs are certainly not out of it,” the former Spurs striker added.
