Zaha has put pen to paper at Palace until the summer of 2023.

Clinton Morrison has told Sky Sports (Wednesday, 11.04am) that clubs will still be interested in Wilfried Zaha despite the Crystal Palace talisman signing a new five-year deal at Selhurst Park.

Zaha, 25, has penned a deal with Roy Hodgson’s side that will see him remain at Palace until the summer of 2023, after another excellent campaign with the Premier League side throughout 2017-18.

Last season, Ivory Coast international Zaha scored nine goals and created another five goals during his 29 Premier League appearances – providing Palace with the quality required to remain in England’s top flight.

Speaking to Sky Sports, former Palace striker Morrison showed his delight at seeing Zaha commit his future to the club but did warn fans that clubs will still be interested in the former Manchester United attacker.

“This is a great morning. Wilfried Zaha is so important, he is our talisman and this will make Palace fans so happy. A lot of speculation too, but he’s chosen to stay,” Morrison said.

“A massive coup. He has been exceptional last few seasons, he has carried this team. He is the x-factor, he takes us up the pitch. There will be teams still trying to put in bids for him. The best news ever”.

Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Chelsea were all linked with moves for Zaha throughout the summer window, but they were priced out of a move with some outlets claiming Palace rated the attacker at £70million.

Now, the Premier League sides will still have to spend a huge amount to land Zaha if they do indeed become interested in the January transfer window or next summer.
