Clinton Morrison said on Sky Sports News (1:12pm, February 6, 2021) that Gareth Bale must be wondering what he is doing at Tottenham Hotspur.
Bale has struggled for playing time at Tottenham since returning to the North London club in the summer of 2020.
The 31-year-old winger joined Spurs on loan from Spanish and European giants Real Madrid in the summer of 2020.
According to WhoScored, the Wales international has made two starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League, scoring one goal in the process.
Bale has also scored one goal in six Europa League games for Jose Mourinho’s side, according to WhoScored.
Former Crystal Palace forward Morrison, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, thinks that Bale must be wondering why he joined Spurs.
While referring to Bale not coming on against Chelsea on Thursday, Morrison said on Sky Sports News (1:12pm, February 6, 2021): “He is sitting on the bench, 10 minutes to go, and you are not bringing him on. You have made only two substitutions. Gareth Bale must be sitting there thinking, ‘What I have come to this football club if I am not going to be given an opportunity?’”

Bale has not been especially great in the games that he has played for Spurs this season.
However, one must remember that he was carrying an injury when he arrived at Spurs, and he has not really been given a run of games.
The Welshman remains a very good footballer, and perhaps in the coming weeks and months, he will play a big role for Spurs.
