Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers bounced back from a midweek disappointment to beat the Dons.
Clint Hill has suggested to Rangers TV that goalkeeper Wes Foderingham was frustrated over not keeping a clean sheet on Saturday.
Rangers beat Aberdeen 2-1 at Ibrox to stay second in the Scottish Premiership and eight points behind Celtic, who have three games in hand.
Second-half goals from Kenny Miller and Lee Hodson – his first for the Gers – had Mark Warburton’s side 2-0 up with 20 minutes to go.
But Andrew Considine pulled one back for the Dons in the dying stages after Hill picked up a second yellow card, but the visitors – who then had Ryan Jack sent off – could not find an equaliser.
Rangers went into the clash on the back of a morale-sapping 2-0 defeat at Hearts, and the veteran defender has told the club’s official channel that he is delighted with the response after such a disappointment showing in midweek.
“We took criticism and rightly so against Hearts. We didn’t turn up on the night and didn’t show anything like we could do,” Hill said.
“[Saturday] was all about the response. I don’t think we played our usual possession-based football – I think we showed a different side to our game.
“We were more direct, committed, and I think you could see that, especially at the end when they all got involved to try and protect each other.
“So it was a very pleasing performance from everybody. We are gutted we lost out on the clean sheet, and Wes was saying about it there and rightly so.”
