Clint Hill has told Rangers TV what he noticed about the Gers’ training regimen under Mark Warburton.

The 37-year-old joined Rangers on a one-year deal in the summer, following a six-year stint with QPR which saw him experience plenty of Premier League and Championship football.

Given his age, it would be fair to say that Hill is in the twilight of his playing career, but you would not think it based on his performances so far this season.

He is one of Warburton’s first-choice centre-backs following what has been a strong start to life in Glasgow.

One reason behind his smooth transition from English football to Scottish football could be Warburton’s training, which is known for its intensity.

But Hill says that it is not only Warburton and David Weir who call for such strong sessions, noting that the playing staff are also very happy to work hard.

Asked by Rangers TV about the intensity of training, he said: “Yeah it’s demanded. That was one of the first things I noticed when I came in, is that the lads demand a high standard of training. It’s not just driven by the manager.”

Rangers are fifth in the Scottish Premiership after dropping 12 points already this season.
