Ibrox club Rangers earned a point against Celtic at Parkhead on Saturday afternoon.

Former Rangers defender Clint Hill has described David Bates’ performance against Celtic on Saturday afternoon as “outstanding” as the Light Blues earned a 0-0 draw against Brendan Rodgers’ champions.
Bates, 21, entered the fray in the 18th minute after starting the match as a substitute. However, veteran defender Bruno Alves was forced off the field of play. The Portuguese ace was seen wearing a protective boot after the match.

Rangers academy product Bates was crucial in keeping Moussa Dembele quiet, as Rangers prevented Celtic from failing to score in a Scottish Premiership match for just the second time since Brendan Rodgers’ took control.
Hill hailed his former teammate as he proved instrumental in keeping Celtic out, as Graeme Murty’s side rose to deny Celtic all three points.
Just his sixth appearance of the season, it remains to be seen if Bates will be a Rangers player much longer as he enters the final few months of his current contract at Ibrox.
The draw sees Rangers remain 11 points behind Celtic in third place, with their next Scottish Premiership outing coming against Derek McInnes’ second-placed Aberdeen on the 24th of January.
Hill, 39, has since joined English League Two side Carlisle United until the end of the season, playing 17 times this term and even scoring once against Grimsby Town.
