The veteran defender is set to sign a one-year deal at Ibrox.
Hill left QPR after six years this summer
Imminent Rangers signing Clint Hill says Mark Warburton was a big factor in his decision to move north of the border, the Daily Record reports.
Hill met with the Ibrox chief at England’s National Football Centre in Burton-on-Trent, after his release by Queens Park Rangers this summer.
And the 37-year-old, who was speaking after flying into Glasgow Airport in Friday, is set to sign a one-year with the newly-promoted side.
“I’ve been very, very impressed with Mark Warburton, to be honest,” Hill said, as quoted by the Daily Record. “I spent a good few hours with him down at St George’s Park and he said he need a bit of experience to go with their talented young players.
Warburton wants to utilise Hill’s experience at Ibrox
“That’s a role I can hopefully play. I’ve not come up here for a jolly-up. I still believe I can do a job and I want to work. I stressed that to Mark.
“I want to give him a selection headache and I’ll be doing my upmost in training to do that.”
Barring any hiccups, Hill will surpass Kenny Miller as Rangers’ oldest player this summer and the Liverpudlian’s advancing years have raised eyebrows among the Light Blues faithful.
However, with Miller one of only two players – the other being Hill’s former QPR teammate Joey Barton – over the age of 30, his experience could prove vital next season.

Though Hill spent the last two campaigns in the Championship, three of his previous four came in the English Premier League.
The centre-back began his career at Tranmere Rovers, moving on to Oldham Athletic, Stoke City and Crystal Palace before arriving at Loftus Road.
