Rangers drew 1-1 with Kilmarnock on Friday evening.

Rangers defender Clint Hill has admitted to the club’s official website that the international break is coming at a bad time for them.

The Gers were held to a frustrating draw by Kilmarnock on Friday evening, needing a super free kick from James Tavernier to level Kris Boyd’s opener and secure a point.

It is not the first time they have had to endure a frustrating draw this season, with Hamilton Academical proving similarly tough opponents on the opening day of the campaign.

More annoyingly, Rangers must now wait until after the international break to try to bounce back from the result, and Hill admits the timing of the games are not ideal.

“This break has maybe come at a bad time for us. If you win, great, everything is rosy and everyone is happy,” he told the club’s official website.

“But having drawn and lost two points, we now go into the break not quite happy with how things have gone. We need a big reaction for the following week.”

Rangers will certainly need to bounce back quickly from this defeat, especially given their next game is the Old Firm derby against Celtic.

It will be the first time the two sides have met each other in the league for a number of years and the Gers fans will be keen to see their side put on a positive show.

That is not likely to be an easy task though, with Brendan Rodgers’ side starting the season on fire and already threatening to open up a lead at the top of the table.
