Rangers kicked off their Europa League campaign on Thursday evening, as Steven Gerrard’s side took on Villarreal away from home at El Madrigal on Thursday evening.
Ibrox club Rangers played out a 2-2 draw with Villarreal in Europa League Group G.
Scott Arfield and Kyle Lafferty scored the goals for the Gers in the second half to help Rangers to a point.
Alex Rae was following the match, and the former Rangers midfielder has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to the final result.
Former Rangers defender Clint Hill, who spent the 2016-17 campaign at Ibrox, has also taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the draw for the Gers.
Meanwhile, DaMarcus Beasley has praised Rangers forward Lafferty on Twitter for his goal for the Gers against Villarreal.
Beasley was on the books of Rangers from 2007 until 2010, and played with Lafferty for the Ibrox club.
The 31-year-old Northern Ireland international forward – whose first spell at Rangers was from 2008 until 2012 – returned to the Gers in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by The Glasgow Evening Times to be worth £500,000.
