Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers let Clint Hill leave at the end of last season.
Hill was let go by Rangers at the end of last season, in a move which surprised many supporters at Ibrox.
Hill had been a star performer for Rangers last campaign, and despite his advancing years, the centre-back still looked like he had something to offer the Light Blues.
Hill, himself, made no secret of his desire to sign a new contract with Rangers, but no deal was presented to him.
The 38-year-old has since gone on to sign for Carlisle United, but he insists that he still respects Rangers boss Caixinha.
“Oh no, there was nothing like that,” Hill said. “That is football.
“It was very respectful in the way he spoke to me about it. There were no text messages or phone calls, it was face-to-face and we were looking at each other explaining our reasons.
“I have got a lot of respect for that. That is the way I want to be handled as a player so there were no complaints or any animosity from me.
“Obviously I would have loved to have stayed at that club because once you leave you realise how special a place it is.
“But there is absolutely no animosity towards the manager and I just want Rangers to do well now.”
Hill played 32 times for Rangers over the course of last campaign, and his passionate performances meant he became a popular figure at Ibrox.
Hill has made four appearances for Carlisle to date, with the Cumbrians currently sat in 15th place in the League Two standings.
