Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has been linked with the Rangers managerial role.

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has been linked to the Rangers managerial role with Graeme Murty’s future beyond the end of the season in doubt at Ibrox – and former defender Clint Hill has reacted to the news on Twitter.
Gerrard, 37, retired from professional football in 2016 after a short stint in the MLS with LA Galaxy, and has since taking up a coaching role in Liverpool’s academy with the Under-18 side.
The 2005 Champions League winner and former England captain rejected the chance to become manager of MK Dons last year, but BBC Sport claim he is on a shortlist of managers being considered at Rangers.
Hill, who played for Rangers during the 2016-17 season and is remembered mostly for his last-gasp equaliser against Celtic in the 1-1 draw at Celtic Park, described choosing Gerrard as a “brave appointment”.
Gerrard has also taken on punditry and is a prominent member alongside Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard and Gary Lineker on BT Sport’s coverage of the Champions League.
Becoming Rangers manager would see Gerrard go head to head with former boss Brendan Rodgers, with whom he worked at Liverpool with.
Celtic take on the Gers this Sunday in what could be Murty’s last Old Firm game in charge, with a new appointment expected to be made in the summer.
