The American has been linked with moves to Liverpool, Manchester United, and Arsenal.
There are two games left of this Premier League season, but Fulham sign off in front of their home fans this weekend against Sunderland.
Clint Dempsey has again been the star, scoring 22 goals for his club during a terrific season.
He has though not scored since the club drew with Chelsea four games ago, a long time for him, and would love to sign off with a goal in front of his home crowd, before the club’s away trip to Tottenham on the final day.
Even more reason for him to place special meaning on the Sunderland game, it could be his last ever home game for Fulham.
The recently turned 29-year-old has been linked with a move to one of the Premier League’s big guns, as he has just one year remaining on his contract.
Liverpool are the latest club to be strongly connected with Dempsey, with chairman Tom Werner expressing admiration for him.
“We never talk publicly about transfer targets, however, any team would be lucky to have Clint Dempsey playing on their squad.”
Rivals Manchester United, who like Liverpool have a strong American fanbase are also believed to be interested, as are Arsenal, who really need a third forward to compliment Robin van Persie and Lukas Podolski.
There may be other clubs who show an interest, Chelsea perhaps, but if Dempsey does move on, it will more than likely be to one of the aforementioned three.
By winning against Sunderland, Fulham can steal a march on Liverpool and go above them, currently the sides are level on points after the Cottagers’ Anfield win, and Liverpool play Chelsea in the Premier League next Tuesday after facing them in the FA Cup final tomorrow.
So if you are looking for a good bet this weekend, look no further than Clint Dempsey. He will be extra keen to sign off on a high note.
He is 5/1 to be first goalscorer and 7/5 to score at any time, an easy way to double your money surely. The last time he faced a side from the North East, he struck a hat-trick past Newcastle, how he’d love to do that on Sunday.
Where will Dempsey play next season? Would you like him at your club?
