Clinton Morrison has told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports (26/12/20 at 1:50 pm) that Josh King would be a ‘clever signing’ for West Ham.

Throughout the summer, and now ahead of the January transfer window, Bournemouth’s versatile forward has been touted to make the switch to West Ham.

The Guardian recently claimed that the Hammers want to sign King but they aren’t prepared to pay £17.5 million for his services.

Given his versatility, ex-Palace hitman, Morrison, thinks King would improve those in East London.

“They have been linked to him before,” said Morrison. “I think he would be a really good striker to bring in. He is a good footballer.

“The thing about Josh King is that he can either play through the middle, play wide on the right or wide on the left.

“I think Josh King would be a really good signing for West Ham. I don’t know if Bournemouth will let him go but if they can agree a fee then he would be a clever signing.”

Without Michail Antonio, this West Ham side seem toothless and lacking that punch in attack.

Sebastien Haller has struggled during his time at the London Stadium and that was evident during his side’s draw to Brighton today.

King’s experience, versatility, ability to add pace to West Ham’s forward line would improve things for sure, but it’s a case of putting the right money on the table for his services.
