Erik ten Hag has heaped praise on Tottenham No.10 Harry Kane as Manchester United prepare to take on Spurs this Thursday.
The Red Devils go up against the north Londoners in N17 in what is a significant Premier League clash as far as the Champions League qualifications positions are concerned.
Discussing a range of topics – including an injury update on Bruno Fernandes – Ten Hag found time to praise Kane.
What’s the story?
Well, the Dutchman called the England international a “clever player” in his press conference.
Manchester United‘s official website quote Ten Hag as saying: “It’s quite clear his impact on the game from Spurs. We have a plan of course for that… you have to defend him as a team. He’s a clever player, so don’t allow him to come into situations. He can have a big impact on the game.”

Kane has given plenty of teams nightmares over the years, but somewhat surprisingly, his record against Manchester United is actually quite poor.
Where the 29-year-old has scored 20 goals in 20 games against Leicester and 17 in 16 against Everton, the Spurs talisman has only netted five goals in 18 appearances against Manchester United.
Nevertheless, a player as talented as Kane can pop up to hurt you at any moment, so the Red Devils must be alert.
So far this season, the Londoner has scored 26 goals in 43 outings, which is an excellent return given how much Tottenham have struggled this term.
Manchester United want Harry Kane
Is this a case of Ten Hag tapping Kane up as we approach the summer transfer window?
Sky Sports believe that Manchester United are keen to sign the £200,000-a-week striker.
Ten Hag is said to be focused on bringing a new frontman to Old Trafford before pre-season begins, and with Kane soon to enter the final 12 months of his contract at Tottenham, a move could happen.
Be sure to keep an eye on the situation, as Spurs have a huge decision to make regarding their talisman this summer.
