Tottenham fans have reacted on Twitter to Jose Mourinho’s comments about winning ’25 and a half ‘ trophies.
Days before Tottenham’s League Cup final, Daniel Levy opted to pull the plug on the trophy-laden coach, despite his record in finals.
And given that Levy didn’t allow Mourinho to help Spurs lift the League Cup final, Mourinho claimed, in an interview with James Corden, that he will say he has won ’25 and a half’ trophies in his career because ‘the half is the final that I didn’t play with Tottenham’.
Spurs did go onto lose that final at Wembley – with Ryan Mason taking charge – and whilst the scoreline only read 1-0, it was a lot more comfortable than that for Manchester City.
Well, even though it’s been 52 days since Mourinho was handed his P45 in North London, a new face is yet to replace him.
Mourinho himself has landed a new job because he is now going to manage Roma next season, so it will be interesting to see how their season pans out compared to Tottenham’s.
But amazingly enough, after several names were thrown about for the vacant Spurs post, it seems as though Spurs are plugging towards, Paulo Fonseca.
He was the man Roma sacked to bring Mourinho in, so it just sums Spurs and Levy up that they go and get the man the Italian club sacked.
Nonetheless, this is how Spurs fans reacted to Mourinho’s trophy comments:
