Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter are raving about Eberchi Eze’s goal.
The Crystal Palace playmaker scored a worldie in this afternoon’s 4-1 thumping of Leeds United at Selhurst Park.
Eze, who was linked with a move to Tottenham this past summer, fired the Eagles 2-0 ahead with a beautiful free kick on 22 minutes.
It was moments like that which made Palace spend £17 million on the 22-year-old former QPR star.
Football London reported in June that Eze was definitely on Spurs’ radar and here’s how fans of the North London club reacted to his goal this afternoon:
With Dele Alli struggling to impress Jose Mourinho this season, there might’ve been room for Eze, too.
Alli is looking increasingly like he might struggle to stay at Tottenham beyond January and with Eze playing a similar role, perhaps the Lilywhites missed a trick.
That being said, this was his first Premier League goal, so it isn’t like he is scoring every single week.
But he’ll have a taste for scoring in the big time now and who knows, his strike against Leeds might’ve opened the floodgates.
