Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to react to news about Cameron Archer penning a new contract at Bodymoor Heath.
Aston Villa announced this evening that their promising young attacker has put pen to paper on an extension that’ll keep him with his boyhood club until the year 2025.
The striker celebrated his 20th birthday on Thursday and what a stunning way for Archer to cap off an overall brilliant week.
Here’s how Aston Villa supporters reacted to the development on social networking site, Twitter.
Genuine prospect
The reason why Aston Villa supporters are gushing over this announcement is because Archer is a genuinely exciting youngster.
Remember, we’re talking about somebody who bagged himself a hat-trick on his debut for the club, in a Carabao Cup victory away to Barrow a little earlier in this campaign.
So for the Villans to make this decision, and secure his long-term future, indeed it’s a cracking development.
This season, Steven Gerrard probably won’t have much cause to experiment with him in the Premier League.
The former Rangers manager is flying at Aston Villa, winning three out of his first four Premier League games.
But Gerrard – whose outfit is 10th – will be desperate to finish as high up the standings as possible and for that reason, he is likely going to continue with Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins as his primary striking options.
A January loan for Archer would be an unbelievable progression, perhaps to a Championship club for example?
Even six months in the second tier could result in him returning to Bodymoor Heath a much more mature, rounded number nine come next summer.
