The new Sheffield United recruit has scored in nearly half his games against Sheffield Wednesday.
Clayton Donaldson in action for Birmingham City
Sheffield United made Clayton Donaldson their 10th and final signing of the summer transfer window on deadline day.
The former Birmingham City striker could make his debut at Sunderland this weekend, but it’s the Blades’ trip to city rivals Sheffield Wednesday at the end of the month that he will perhaps most be looking forward to playing in.
Sheffield United fans celebrate
Donaldson and Wednesday have crossed paths seven times in total, with the 33-year-old scoring in three of those meetings.
And two of his trio of goals have come in his last two appearances against the Owls, having missed the Blues’ 3-0 defeat at Hillsborough in February through injury.

The other arrived more than five years ago while playing for Brentford – a game which Wednesday won to go ahead of United on the penultimate game of that League One campaign.
And while that one, along with that scored in Birmingham’s 2-1 win at St Andrew’s last September, came from the penalty spot, the fact that both were won by Donaldson himself should whet the appetite of Blades fans ahead of this month’s derby encounter.
