Leicester City manager Claude Puel has suggested to The Leicester Mercury that he could recall Harvey Barnes from his loan spell at West Bromwich Albion.

Barnes joined Championship club West Brom on loan from Premier League side Leicester in the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old midfielder to scheduled to stay at the Baggies until the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

Leicester manager Puel has suggested that he could recall the England Under-20 international.

Puel told The Leicester Mercury when asked if he might recall Barnes: “We will see. Of course I follow Barnes, I follow Filip Benkovic (on loan at Celtic) and everyone on loan. It is important to look at their performance. We will see what happens in January.

“Harvey had some game-time last season. It was interesting. He came back in January with us. At the beginning of the season, he was not ready to remain with us.

“He wanted game-time to play and didn’t have the good focus with us. We will see in January and at the end of the season.”

Potentially worrying for West Bromwich Albion

Barnes has been one of the best players for West Brom so far this season and has established himself as a key figure in manager Darren Moore’s team.

The 20-year-old midfielder has scored three goals and provided two assists in eight Championship appearances for the Baggies so far this campaign, according to WhoScored.

It would be quite a blow for West Brom if Leicester decide to recall the midfielder back to the King Power Stadium in the January transfer window.

The Baggies are going strong in the Championship and are aiming to win back automatic promotion to the Premier League.
