Southampton take on league leaders Liverpool at St Mary’s tomorrow.

Southampton boss Claude Puel has said his side will try and play their normal game when they come against league leaders Liverpool at St Mary’s tomorrow, the Daily Echo reports.
The Saints host the side that has scored the most goals in the division – 30 after 11 games – but Puel has said his side have the capability to create several chances like their opponents.
He is quoted in the Daily Echo, saying: “It’s important for our team just to play our game. Of course, we play against a very good team with great players. They play spectacular football, but we have qualities also.
“Liverpool are first because of the chances they create, but we also create opportunities. We can see a good game and an open game and I hope for the supporters a result. We have to stick to our football.”
Puel certainly doesn’t want his side to shy away from what they have been doing so far this season. His side do create opportunities but have perhaps been guilty on a couple of occasions of not taking them. Prior to the international break they had plenty of opportunities to get the better of Hull City and after leading 1-0 for the best part of an hour they just failed to get that killer second goal. Instead they were punished and left the KCOM Stadium empty handed after losing 2-1.

Southampton have shown they can take points off the sides at the top this season. They were excellent in their 1-1 draw with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, and were unlucky to leave the Emirates Stadium empty handed after losing 2-1 to Arsenal.
They will also be keen to ensure their losing streak in the league doesn’t stretch to three games, following an encouraging run of form.
