Saint Etienne manager Claude Paul says Leicester City’s transfer target Wesley Fofana will remain at the club for the coming season, Calciomercato report.
The Foxes have been heavily linked with the young French defender.
A report from 90Min this week claimed Leicester had identified Fofana as their top defensive transfer target this summer as the Midlands side gear up for the new campaign.

But Puel has since told reporters his player will not be moving clubs.
“Fofana is a young player who has played 17 games among the professionals. He was normally expected among the reserves, the year before my arrival. I took him with the first team group and gave him minutes. He is still learning, he needs to mature after making good progress, but he still has many more to do. He is in a good club to continue his growth with Saint-Etienne and will stay there to continue growing,” Puel explained.
Leicester aren’t the only Premier League club linked with the talented defender.
In mid-June, a report from ButFootballClub claimed Arsenal and Everton are also keen.
in late July, Leicester were said to be preparing an £18 million offer (Footmercato). But now, it seems his price tag has jumped up to around £27 million.

Leicester will be hoping to strengthen after just missing out on a top four spot last term.
The Foxes are seemingly after a new long-term replacement for Jonny Evans and Caglar Soyuncu while Wes Morgan is ageing and Filip Benkovic remains unproven.
