As Tottenham Hotspur prepare to face Aston Villa on Saturday, Brooklyn Lyons-Foster has been spotted in first-team training.

The 22-year-old is one of the most exciting young players at Spurs, known to have all the makings of an elite ball-playing centre-back.

With Tottenham Hotspur hoping to get another win under their belt under Ryan Mason against Aston Villa, Brooklyn Lyons-Foster has been called up to training amongst the senior side.

Blogger Superhotspur gave a gist of what makes the Englishman such a special talent, saying, “Brooklyn Lyons-Foster is an adventurous and confident ball-playing centre half who looks up to the likes of Sergio Ramos and Toby Alderweireld, is like the slightly younger Luis Binks, a fantastically well-rounded centre half.”

The youngster, branded as ‘classy’ was also compared to Manchester City’s John Stones in terms of his ability to bring the ball out of defence.

As Tottenham Hotspur were training ahead of their upcoming contest against Aston Villa, Brooklyn Lyons-Foster was seen in and amongst the big boys, as seen on Getty Images.

While Lyons-Foster is unlikely to play any part during the meeting between both sides, his inclusion could bear fruit in the long-term.

HITC View: Brooklyn Lyons-Foster could be a huge help to Spurs in the future

It’s safe to say that the centre-back department in N17 leaves a lot to be desired, with Cristian Romero’s dip in form this season, while Eric Dier, Japhet Tanganga, Ben Davies and Clement Lenglet being upgradable options.

However, if Brooklyn Lyons-Foster impresses in training for Tottenham ahead of games such as against Aston Villa, he has the potential to slot in as a starter one day.

That could be of huge help to the club itself, as they lack a centre-half that combines the traits of a pure defender with top ball-playing ability.

Considering a number of targets in the transfer window are likely to cost a pretty penny, Lyons-Foster could save his club millions by emerging as an in-house solution.
