Back in February, Sky Sports revealed that New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner would be joining Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
The deal is yet to be announced, although official confirmation is set to be made at the end of June.
Coincidentally, Turner did something back in 2016 which will already endear him to the Arsenal supporters, before he’s even kicked a ball for the Gunners.
What’s the story?
Well, the 27-year-old posted a tweet after Leicester amazingly lifted the Premier League title in 2016, where he aimed a dig at Tottenham.
Turner described Arsenal’s bitter rivals as a “classless” club after they lost out to the Foxes.
Interestingly, the United States international is actually a fan of the Gunners, so his imminent move to the Emirates Stadium must feel like a dream come true.
So far this season, Turner has made five Major League Soccer appearances, conceding seven goals while keeping just one clean sheet.
He is expected to be a part of pre-season under Mikel Arteta, and will join the likes of Aaron Ramsdale, Bernd Leno and Karl Hein in the goalkeeping department.

In our view, Turner’s arrival in north London could force Leno away from the Emirates Stadium.
Arteta doesn’t need four goalkeepers in his squad, and Fulham have already started negotiations with the Germany international, according to The Athletic.
Newcastle are also interested in signing Leno, who is likely to command a decent fee for Arsenal.
The shot-stopper himself is also keen to leave, as he doesn’t want to miss out on the World Cup in November.
In that respect, we believe Arteta will cash in and spend the money on other areas, while using Ramsdale, Turner and Hein as his three goalkeeping options in the 2022/23 campaign.
