The Mirror reported in April 2021 that Liverpool were interested in signing Pedri from Barcelona in the summer of 2021.
The 19-year-old had a release clause of £70 million in his contract, according to the report.
Pedri eventually signed a new contract with Barcelona in October 2021 until 2026 with a much bigger release clause.
The Spain International is one of the best young central midfielders in the world, and Liverpool would have been a better team with him in him.

Pedri scored three goals and gave one assist in 10 Premier League starts, and scored one goal in six UEFA Europa League matches last season.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar is a former Barcelona player, and he is a huge fan of Pedri, comparing him to Barca and Spain legend Andres Iniesta.
When asked to describe Pedri in one word on DAZN Canada,Neymar said: “Classic”.
The Brazilian added: “Because he reminds me of Iniesta.”
