Everton have begun construction of a new stadium based on the Bramley-Moore Dock, and this has marked a historic moment of the building process.
As per the Liverpool Echo, The first section of the concrete superstructure of the Toffees’ new stadium has been installed, capping off 2021 which has seen plenty of progress at the site of the club’s future home.
Everton have played at Goodison Park for almost 130 years, making the iconic Premier League stadium one of the most famous in English football as well as the oldest still in use by a professional club.
However, Rafa Benitez’s side will one day move out of the Walton-based ground for a new stadium based on the Bramley-Moore Dock, with the £500m arena set to be completed for the 2024/25 season.
Indeed, the erection of the first concrete slab is an exciting update for Everton and a big step in starting proper work on constructing the stadium, which is set to hold 52,000 fans, slightly smaller than Anfield’s current capacity.
