Tottenham Hotspur fans have provided a mixed reaction to Callum Wilson and Steve Bruce’s comments following their controversial draw on Sunday.

Newcastle were awarded a stoppage-time penalty after it was judged that Eric Dier handled the ball in the penalty area, with the decision sparking a big reaction after the game.

Wilson, who put the spot-kick away, stated that it’s ‘marvellous’ for him and ‘long may it continue’ [Chronicle], as his comments didn’t sit well with the Spurs fans.

They were pretty critical of his comments and felt that he should have been more like his manager, who slammed handball rule.

Bruce labelled the new rule as ‘nonsense’ and his comments were welcomed with open arms by those in North London, as quoted by the Guardian.

A selection of the Tottenham faithful feel that Wilson should have been more like his manager after the game rather than seemingly sounding classless like they felt he did.

In the game itself, Lucas Moura had opened the scoring in the first half after Harry Kane whipped in a brilliant low cross from the left-hand side.

Heung-Min Son, who went off injured at half time, hit the woodwork, and in truth, Spurs should have put the game to bed before the drama near the end unfolded.

Nonetheless, here is a selection of Spurs fans reacting to both Wilson and Bruce’s comments:
