Some Leeds United fans were impressed by the performance of Eberechi Eze for Crystal Palace against Marcelo Bielsa’s side at the weekend.

Leeds suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Palace away from home at Selhurst Park in London in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Although the Whites had an early goal controversially ruled out because of offside, on the balance of play, Palace were the better team.

One player who did well for the Eagles was Eze, who joined Roy Hodgson’s side in the summer of 2020 from Championship club Queens Park Rangers.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder whipped in a brilliant corner for Scott Dann’s goal and then scored a stunning free kick.

Although the youngster was not as influential in the second half as he was in the opening 45 minutes, the former QPR star has a very good game overall and showed what he is capable of.

According to WhoScored, Eze took two shots, played two key passes, had a pass accuracy of 84.9%, took 61 touches, made five tackles and four interceptions, and put in four crosses.

Eze was linked with Leeds in the summer of 2020. The Sun reported in August that the Whites liked the youngster, while The Mirror claimed that same month that the West Yorkshire club’s director of football Victor Orta wanted to bring him to Elland Road.

Some Leeds fans were impressed by the display produced by Eze, and below are some of the best comments on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Football League World has reported that Reading do not have any plans to sell Michael Olise in the January transfer window.

Leeds Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid are among the clubs interested in the 18-year-old attacking player, but the Royals do not want to cash in on him in the middle of the season, according to the report.
